11.)    September Morning Cup of Java
Please visit   http://morningcupofjava0914.eventbrite.com  to RSVP for our monthly professional networking meeting on Friday, September 19, 2014 from 9am-9:45am at 55 Second Street in the back atrium and do your best to attend (I know that things happen).  Here are some pictures taken by group member Sierra Jewell  http://bit.ly/17k6H3L  . Here, we request and offer referrals for one another, so please bring lots of business cards. Although this is a free event, please consider making a donation towards the management of the group (no donation is too small). Thanks to those who have already made contributions.  Many thanks.

22.)    reciprocity™  -  Our East Bay professional networking meeting, reciprocity™, which is the same concept as the Morning Cup of Java, will take place Friday, September 19, 2014 from 6pm-8pm at Z CafĂ©  in Downtown Oakland.  Please RSVP here  https://www.facebook.com/events/332039903634653/.

33.)    7th Annual Outdoor Concert 10/1/14 at Noon at Levi Plaza
Finally, the outdoor concert has been finalized.  All of those who have volunteered to assist, I will email logistics for the day-of that we will need help with to you shortly.  Rather than having this event be a “brown bag” lunch like it has been, I have created a registration link here  http://bit.ly/1pxjAwu  so that we can have the food catered.  If you or your company would like to co-sponsor this event to offset some of the costs, please email me at kevin@klnconsultinggroup.com.  We will listen to Ron Thompson and the Resistors on Wednesday, October 1st from noon to 1:30pm and network throughout so please bring lots of business cards.  Since this our 7th year and signature event that started this LinkedIn Group, I would like to make this our annual fundraiser.  Please consider making a donation here to keep this group going http://bit.ly/1pxjAwu so that you can continue generating leads and making introductions.

[March 17, 2014] – (OAKLAND, Ca.) - This year, the St. Mary’s College High School Alumni Community will not only celebrate the 2nd Annual Shakir Stewart Awards Sc–olarship Fundraiser, we will also celebrate what would have been our fallen brother’s 40th birthday.  Hot on the heels of last year’s successful gala, we have a star studded event planned and we hope that you will be in attendance.

On Saturday, April 12, 2014, from 6:30pm – 2am, friends and alumni from St. Mary’s and Holy Names High School will honor many teachers and former students such as: Damani “Phesto” Thompson (Hieroglyphics/Souls of Mischief), Tom “Lyrics Born” Shimura, Ryan Kyle Coogler (Fruitvale Station), Rodney Franklin, Russell Hornby (Grimm), Thomas McElroy (Foster/McElroy - EnVogue), and Chris Hicks at a formal affair at the Bella Ultra Lounge in Downtown Oakland.  The gala will be hosted by Kente Scott and Richie Rich (415), the event will feature presenters such as Kevin L. Nichols, Thomas McElroy, and Shawn Granberry; and performances by Phesto.  The proceeds of this will go to The Shakir Stewart Empowerment Fund which helps an African American male, like Shakir, attend St. Mary’s High School for free each year.

Tickets are $40 each and Bella Ultra Lounge is located at 561 11th St., Oakland, CA 94604.  The event is sponsored by The Watch Now Networks, Inc.

For more information or to purchase tickets for this black tie event, please visit www.ShakirStewart.com.
