Here is a poem that I wrote several years ago that

I would like to share.

The True Meaning of Valentine’s Day

What is this day that’s made for lovers

whose hearts are intertwined?

Is it really love? The kind that’s wholesome,

nourishing, and divine?

Is it more than just dozens of roses, candy, dinner, and wine?

Or are you settling with someone when true love is

what you’re searching to find?

This is a day that should be spent with loved ones in your life.

Those who have been there during your highest peaks and

throughout your most difficult strife.

It’s almost a blessing or a reward for their

dedication to your plight

One day out of the year where you can express your

appreciation and feelings of contrite.
